TOP FIVE FITNESS MOTIVATION TIPS FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE (1).webp

Have you ever thought of starting a fitness program and then took a raincheck? If you answered in the affirmative, you’re not alone. Many people embark on their fitness journey to stop when they get bored; they lose interest quickly, or the results just come too slowly. The decision to start your fitness journey should be more than just a new year resolution.

When you start focusing on your health and fitness as a lifestyle rather than a new year resolution or a 30-day challenge, you develop behaviors that organically improve several other areas of your life. Adopting a healthy lifestyle can inspire creativity and instill in you discipline, adaptability, and balance. The result will ensure that you not only look and feel better, but you transform into a better version of yourself to the advantage of the people in your life that truly matter. Here are the top five fitness motivation tips for a healthy lifestyle.

1. Remember why you started this journey
The motivation to adopt a healthy lifestyle comes from many places. But when it comes from within, it sticks! Keep reminding yourself why you thought of starting this transformation journey in the first place. Keep telling your inner self why you want to achieve your fitness goals. Ask yourself, why are they important to you? How do these goals stand to change your life? Writing it down and visualizing it helps reinforce the idea to yourself and has a lasting effect on your mind. This makes your goals real! It shows you and reminds you that you can do this and have all that you truly desire!

2. Get professional help
Making life changes and fitness changes do not come easy. The process of knowing how to approach your fitness goals - right from setting to achieving them can be challenging. Where do you start? How do you do it? Then what? Having someone knowledgeable doing it with you can be a great support system and a source of inspiration, knowledge, and accountability! It just helps to have a professional expert counting on you too! Someone there to pick you up when you don’t feel like it. And someone to give you a little pep talk and push! After all, that’s what we’re here for as your trainer, coach, and friend!

3. The diet is as important as your workout routine, if not more
Whoever told you that fitness is all about working out was sharing half-baked information like most self-proclaimed fitness experts out there. What you consume plays a significant role in how quickly you achieve your fitness goals. Eating whole foods is always going to be the gold standard! And although we understand that’s not going to be the case 100% of the time, making an extra effort to plan goes a long way! Shopping for healthy foods, planning meals ahead of time, and understanding how the calories you eat in turn fuel your body is a great start! The quality of the calories matters. The nutritional value matters! It makes you feel good, it makes your workout better, and it makes you actually see results!

4. Track your progress
It’s simple - if you don’t know where you started, you wouldn’t know where you are? And how do you know you have reached the set destination? Tracking your progress is critical to assess if what you’re doing is working out or not. Record your numbers, record your goals, record your weights, record your food! Record the small details of how you feel. Then, if something doesn’t go the way you want, you have something to look back on and adjust. It’s so much easier when you know what you’re doing that’s working or that isn’t working! Otherwise, the following steps are simply a guessing game. If you need help, don’t feel bad about asking for it. Especially if keeping track isn’t your thing! Let your trainer know, so the extra attention to detail and reminders are set for you!

5. Go easy on yourself
Everyone’s journey looks different, and that makes it challenging and fun! Don’t beat yourself up if you fall off course for a day or two. Remember why you started, remember why it’s important to you, check in with yourself or your accountability partner/trainer, and focus on what you need to do to get back on track! Progress can be slow at times, but consistent progress adds to the goals you’ve wanted to achieve! It adds up to all the big things you want! Just when you think it’s not doing anything, it really is! You just have to give yourself the time and grace to see it and feel it!
